Cheryl A. Tucker DNP, RN, CNE is a Clinical Professor at Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing, who holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas as well as specialized certification in academic nursing education.  Dr. Tucker teaches advanced pathophysiology and pharmacology focused on medical-surgical care, intensive care, and post-anesthesia care, with primary clinical experience in the areas of cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, and pulmonology.  Her scholarship and volunteer efforts focus on individuals experiencing healthcare complications related to heart disease and dementia as well as nursing and patient education. Cheryl’s congenital heart disease patient advocacy began as a caregiver for her husband and son who experienced healthcare challenges related to congenital heart disease. She serves on the Children’s Heart Foundation Advocacy Committee and the Journal of the American Heart Association Patient Editorial Board.
